Love Notes

My sweet bride’s mother sent me this lovely email this week. It made me really remember why I love designing with the medium of flowers and renewed and invigorated my passion for floral design. Thank you!

Gorgeous French Themed Wedding by Lemon Blossom Designs

Hello! I know I have been missing for a while, but the wait was worth it! I received the images from this wedding from Jaclyn Davis a couple of days ago and can’t wait to share it with you! Whitney and Adam both lived in France for a while and she wanted to incorporate that same easy-going, free spirit, simple elegance vibe into their wedding. Wa-la! We did just that. I used lavender with pale pink David Austin garden roses, blackberry bramble, seeded eucalyptus, cafe au lait dinnerplate dahlias, and various herbs such as rosemary and mint. We also accented by using crab apples and peaches. My personal favorite of the whole affair was the garland over the fence. It introduced the guests to the whole theme of the wedding and was enchanting to walk under. I seriously didn’t want to leave! The best part of the weekend was when the sweet bride dubbed me her “little wedding elf”! I will gladly be called that any day!

Natalie and John!

These are just a few pictures of Natalie and John’s wedding on June 24th. Congratulations! Thank you to Amelia Lyon for these fabulous photos!

April Showers Bring September Flowers!

This wedding was for one of my dear friend’s daughter. Her colors were orange, red, and black. We used maple leaf that was turning color, dahlias, and chinese lanterns!

Lovely Creams and Pinks

These photos were of flowers I did for Tiffany, who is Treasure’s daughter. We also decorated a gorgeous mantleplace for the wedding but those (professional) photos will come soon. For now, these will have to suffice! I used cream/light pink peonies, cream david austin garden roses, and pink and cream sweet pea. Very simple… I also couldn’t find the right accessory for the handle until I decided to just make these bracelets for it. It all came together then and I couldn’t be happier!

Vacation!

For Christmas this year my husband and I got to go on an amazing trip to the Caribbean, namely St. Maarten, St. Barths, and Anguilla, with his whole family! This wasn’t an ordinary trip though, we sailed to all of these places! We stayed on catamarans with a cook and a captain who took us to many ports and special places on these islands. It was so fun, and of course I saw many new flowers and plants that I had no idea of what they were…. so I took pictures of them to one day identify them. One of my most favorite places was Pinel, which was on the French side of St. Maarten. It was this teeny island that no one lives on and everyone comes over to play for the day, then leaves at 5:00 pm. We explored it a little bit and found TONS of hermit crabs! I made Bryan take his shirt off to carry them in (I didn’t want them to pinch me, they were huge!). We then dug a huge whole in the sand and put them all in there to see if they could get out… they were fiesty! Not like the kind you get at the mall that is painted. This trip was truly and once in a lifetime experience and I wish I could go back!
